In the past couple of days this blog has received a dozen spam replies which have been appropriately deleted. I knew it would happen eventually, and there really is no easy way of making it spam-proof. I suppose in a sense it is a “good” thing to see that our blog has been archived by spam bots. This is by no means “good” in the sense that I enjoy getting spam, but rather it is pleasant to see that we are reaching out.
Getting comments on our posts is something we really like to see, as it helps let us know that people are reading and are interested in the content that we offer. Lately, our blog posts have been getting archived by Google merely hours after they have been publicly posted, which is truly a great thing. Our quest to gain official PageRank from Google continues, and hopefully we will someday reach the top of more search results pages (SERPS).
If you haven’t noticed, this blog is a big part of the site to us, as we have continued to provide at least three posts per week, but usually more. School work does conflict at times, as on certain days we have absolutely no time to work on the site.
NFreak General PageRank, Updates
I failed my “all nighter” a few days back, and I am still on an unpleasant sleeping schedule. I actually just woke up ten minutes ago (3:00 a.m.), and today is the day that I hope to finally sleep at a decent time. I was so tired yesterday that I had to skip a class which takes attendance. Regardless, I know my responsibilities and I always get my work done.
The bot has hit quite a landmark, crawling through over 10,000 pages of NFreak.net. It is very hard to tell whether or not Mr. Bot is almost finished, but I estimate that it is over halfway done, and soon we can start phase two. Ultimately, our goal is to increase are PageRank in Google, and get our site’s name out to more people. Once we figure out how to better structure the site such that Google can crawl it better, more of our pages will get indexed and more people will find the site.
Lastly, we will begin working more on Land of Camelot very shortly. There are a few minor things to do before we start classes, but we are very close. Classes will consist of a list of skills. Upon leveling up, users will get three points to put into their skills. Some skills may have pre-requisites, but it will be very easy to understand the way it works.

Yesterday I somehow slept until 5:00 p.m., and I wasn’t able to make a blog post because I had a programming assignment due which I neglected until the last minute. Needless to say, I pulled the infamous all-nighter. I really didn’t expect my assignment to take me eight hours to finish, but it had to be done. While I am very glad that it is finally out of the way, my real “work” lies ahead.
A night filled with homework has left me with a long day to burn away. I have class in less than five hours and I’m already quite tired. So what are my options? I could either (a) go to sleep now and be extremely tired waking up for class, or (b) I could try to stay awake all day to get out of this wretched schedule. I’m going to choose the latter of the options and attempt to stay awake until tonight. This is a risky decision, but I know that if I go to sleep, I might convince myself to not go to class.
I really don’t want to waste my Friday sleeping all day, and I figure that once the afternoon comes around I might pull out of the tired phase and possibly wake up. This leaves me with a lot of free time to explore the Internet, and I am hoping I don’t bore myself to death.
And now you know.
NFreak General Life
So this week might not be all that busy, after all. I dominated my speech today, and my database assignment was pushed back until next Wednesday. All I have for this week will be due on Friday, so I’ll be taking advantage of the next few days and I’ll try to get as much work done on Land of Camelot as possible.
Our site bot has crawled through 3,044 pages of NFreak.net as of this writing, and it has over 44,000 links in the database that it still has yet to handle, so this can be expected to take quite awhile. My estimate still holds at one month. If you’re interested in seeing what the bot sees, check out the bot page.
Tonight I hope to finish adding shop items to the database for LoC, as well as finish the drop lists for all current enemies added. Once that is complete, there are a few minor things to do and then the class system will be next, so expect to see major updates very soon.
Loddey has been silently at work on several new enemies and items, so we do have some content ready to launch for the new areas. She has an equally large job as I do, as there is a never-ending list of items/enemies/equipments that she has yet to draw, and the list seems to be getting longer rather than shorter. If you have any suggestions for the game, please let us know right away. We are always open to suggestions, as we want this game to be absolutely perfect, and that is why we are taking are time with it.
Thanks for reading, friends!
NFreak General Bot, Land of Camelot, Updates
We have done a lot of work in recent months with the site, and we think the time has come to start our own blog. Before today, NFreak.net consisted of three main sections: (1) the Arena, (2) the Chatroom, and (3) Land of Camelot. While Land of Camelot is still a work-in-progress (it is basically only functional for about eight to ten hours of play time), we feel the need to give people more content; more of an incentive to stick around. Our main goal is to expand the site, and increase the range of people that choose to visit.
We have every intention of making this a large part of NFreak.net, and we encourage our readers to leave comments with either positive or negative feedback about our topics. A blog is boring, after all, if there isn’t much to read. We will try to keep things fresh, funny, and interesting for our readers, so stay tuned and check back every day for our newest rants.
If there is a topic that you would like us to cover, please leave a comment; we will try to write about things enjoyable to our readers. And what if, years from now, this blog becomes the number one blog on the Internet; wouldn’t you want to be able to prove that you were here from the very beginning? Comment, please!
Thank you all!
